The Tea Garden and the Bridge

Sunday July 24, 2011

We had set a goal to reach the Japanese Tea Garden in the middle of Golden Gate Park.  The admission price was $7.  It looked like a line to get in and at first I thought it would be really packed inside but it was just a short line to pay.

This is a beautiful location.  I noticed how some of the banzai trees resembled the large trees around the park.  The also sell tea at the restaurant here but we didn't have any.

After the Tea Garden we went to catch the bus again.  We went to a bus stop on Crossover Drive to catch a bus up to the Presidio to see the Golden Gate Bridge.  There was a digital display at the bus stop that told us the bus was due to arrive in about 15 minutes, but the arrival time kept changing.  We ended up having to wait about 45 minutes for the bus to arrive.  The bus was very crowded and it took a long time for it to travel the short distance up to the Presidio.

The Golden Gate Bridge is a fantastic site.

We were supposed to meet up with Ruth and Kurt at 5:30 but we didn't get up to the bridge until 5:00 so we called them and told them we were running late.  They said they wouldn't mind going out to eat later that night.
